June 1990 – A Committee was formed to hold a major Fireworks Display at Rotorua Stock Car Club. This display in November 1990 was a great success and the profit of $1500 was donated to Friends of the Lake

February 1991 – 22 members of the Rotorua Masonic Village were taken for a drive followed by afternoon tea

August 1991 – Hosted 40 members from Greerton Lions for our annual debate and we lost

November 1991 – Spread 30 meters of bark in the dog pound at the SPCA

July 1992 – Erected and presented “Welcome to Lions” at Rotorua Airport

September 1992 – Individual members repaired toys for the Rotorua Toy Library; held a special Board Meeting to determine the future of a proposed new Lions Club at Te Ngae

October 1992 – Members moved 35 tonnes of logs to be cut ready for next winter’s firewood for the needy

March 1993 – Members combined with the Scouts to assist D.O.C. with the Walking Track Project

May 1993 – The Club held a successful “Poor Mans” Night to raise funds for the Administration Account

May-August 1994 – Undertook a restoration project at Te Amorangi Museum

June 1994 – Held a Beef and Lamb promotion to raise funds for the Plunket Society

August 1994 – Held annual snooker tournament with Geyserland and Host; 32 members at a working bee at Te Amorangi Museum; had a sausage sizzle for Cub Scouts for a steam train visit to Rotorua

January 1995 – Manned the gate for the Rotorua Powerboat Regatta
August 1995 – Submitted a bid to Multiple District to host the Multiple District Convention 1998 in Rotorua – was unsuccessful with the bid
September 1995 – Applied on behalf of Zone Clubs to Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust for financial support for Cancer Hostel – $50,000 rec’d
January 1996 – Used A&P’s new catering facilities at Rotorua A&P Show selling steak sandwiches, Frankfurters, and hamburgers
March 1996 – Successful Lions Members and Families weekend at Okataina Education Centre
May 1996 – Interclub Fishing Trip on Lake Rotorua with members of Geyserland Lions Club; painted the exterior of Mokoia Community Assn building
March 1997 – Fellowship and activities weekend at Okataina Trust Camp with two other Clubs in Zone 2
April 1997 – Several working bees held on construction of food trailer – completed in October 1997; Joint Car Rally with Ngongotaha Lions Club – a great afternoon of fun
May 1997 – In final stages of plans for a weekly “Car Fair” Project which commenced on 7 June
1997/1998 – Club members rostered to transport member District Governor Vic Pitman; member John Wyatt is the Cabinet Secretary
January 1998 – Barbecue trailer first used at the Rotorua A & P Show
